Fishing continues to be excellent at Port Renfrew…

Fishing continues to be excellent for both salmon and halibut at Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island. Since my last fishing report on July 24th…the fishing is getting better and better as we are now into August…which is the month for large chinook salmon up to 30+lbs.  Fishing guests have battled fiesty Chinook in the mornings along the beach, before heading out off-shore for more action with salmon and halibut. The fish off-shore average 14 to 25’bs with several encounters with Coho in the mix to keep everyone crank’n on fish! The halibut are better then average size, which puts big smiles on everyones faces when they hit the deck of the boat! We had a 79lb hali 2 days ago, with a few in the high 20’s and low 40’s. The fiesty Chinook off-shore are smash’n small spoons, glow hoochies and plugs! Try fishing 190 to 240ft. Watch for fog, freighters, and fools out there with no electronics. For an excellent experience and guaranteed fishing fun…Call Pacific Sport Fishing Charters  at 1-250-954-3997 or visit my website for all the details. I will be happy to anwser any questions you may have to make your trip a success. There are still some prime dates left for Aug and Sept.
